Entering the world of drones can be exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming with the amount of information and regulation to navigate.
Our 4-hour classroom-based training session is designed to give you a clear, practical introduction to flying drones legally and safely in the UK. Rather than trying to cover everything, the course focuses on helping you understand the key rules, responsibilities, and fundamentals that every drone pilot should know before taking to the air.
Whether you’re flying purely for enjoyment or exploring future opportunities, we introduce the UK drone regulations, basic flight principles, and core piloting considerations that form the foundation for safe and responsible flying.
With over a decade of experience in the drone industry, we’ll guide you through registration requirements, explain how the rules apply in real-world situations, and help you build the confidence to begin flying within the UK framework.
The course is delivered by experienced drone pilots with over sixteen years of combined individual experience, spanning everything from small hobby drones to large industrial platforms, flown both recreationally and professionally in the UK and internationally. You’ll gain insight into what professional drone operations look like, and where your next steps could lead if you choose to progress further.
If you’re looking for a clear, honest starting point into the world of drones, this course is the ideal place to begin your journey.
About Our Training
Our training sessions are held on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the month.
Start time: 9:30 am
Finish time: Around 2:00 pm
Break: A short 15-minute pause midway through the session
We provide everything you need to get the most from your training, including a notebook and pen for taking notes.
Please note:
Do not bring any drones with you — all equipment required for training will be provided.
Laptops and tablets are not required and should not be brought along.
Refreshments are available and included throughout the day.
Parking: Spaces at the training centre are limited and used at your own risk, but there is plenty of additional parking nearby, including Quorn village centre carpark.
Finally, as the premises is shared with other businesses, we kindly ask that you act responsibly and courteously toward everyone on site.

Who we are
Hi, I’m Rich. I’ve been flying drones for over 16 years, starting out by building my own drones and then soon moved onto racing my own FPV aircraft before moving into professional work. Over the years, I’ve flown drones for photography, 3D mapping & Modelling, inspections, TV productions, and even worked overseas as a UAV consultant and instructor. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge to help new pilots fly safely and confidently. My courses are designed to give you real-world tips and hands-on experience, so you leave feeling prepared and inspired to take your own drone flying further. I’m also available to work worldwide, bringing my expertise wherever it’s needed.
